Account and privacy

Closing your account

What deletion removes, what survives it, and what to download before you press the button.

On this page

You can delete your own account at any time: Settings, Account, scroll to the danger zone, press Delete account, and type DELETE to confirm. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone. There is no grace period, no recycle bin and no support process that can bring it back, so read the two lists below first.

Take a copy first#

1

Download your files

Select everything in Files and download it as a zip.

2

Export your documents

Docs, Sheets and Canvas each export to an ordinary file you can open elsewhere.

3

Save your form responses

Responses live in a sheet you own, so export that too.

4

Then delete

Once the account is gone, none of this can be recovered.

Photos deserve a separate warning. Gallery never keeps your original file, so what you can take out is the converted version and its details. If the originals matter, they are on the device you uploaded from, not here. See Adding photos.

What deletion removes#

  • Every file you have stored, out of storage rather than into a bin. Storage holds one copy and there is no backup of it.
  • Every workspace you own, with its folders, documents, spreadsheets, forms and canvases.
  • Every photo you uploaded, wherever it is, including in a workspace you share with colleagues, where it simply stops being there.
  • Every share link, upload link and embed you made. They stop working at once, including links other people have already been sent.
  • Meetings you created, with their chat and attendance.
  • Your sessions on every device, your passkeys, your connected email addresses and any AI assistant you had connected.
  • Your subscription, which is cancelled at that moment.

What does not go with you#

ThingWhat happens to it
A workspace somebody else ownsKeeps going without you. You are removed as a member, and what you created in it stays with the workspace
Photos other members uploaded into your workspaceBelong to them. They are not yours to delete and do not go with your account
Files somebody sent you through a share linkAre still theirs, in their account
Billing records and invoicesKept for 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires it
Residual data in database backupsRemoved within 30 days

The button refuses#

The confirm button stays inactive until the box contains exactly DELETE, in capitals, with no spaces. If the deletion itself fails, Nemi tells you so and nothing has been removed: try again, and if it keeps failing, email support@nemilab.com rather than assuming it half worked.
