Badges, and the credits they pay
What earns a badge, what each one is worth, and how credits let you convert and compress on a plan that does not include it.

Badges are earned by using Nemi: uploading, sharing, tidying up. Each one has tiers, and each tier pays credits. Settings, Progress shows the grid, and every badge says what its next tier is worth before you earn it.
What the credits are for#
- Conversion credits pay for converting a file when your plan's daily allowance is used up, or when your plan does not include converting at all.
- Compression credits do the same for compressing and extracting.
- Share emails add to the number of link emails you can send in a month.
Your plan is always used first. Credits are what you spend once the day's allowance is gone, so having credits never costs you the allowance you already pay for.
Credits that last, and credits that do not#
The earlier tiers of a badge pay credits that are good for a couple of months. The last tier of a badge pays credits that are yours to keep. Each badge says which it is. When you spend, the ones closest to running out go first, so nothing lapses while you still had it.
Converting on the free plan#
The free plan does not include converting, but the Convert button is still there. Press it without credits and Nemi explains what converting does and how to earn some. With credits you can convert files up to 1 GB, and each conversion spends them.
Do credits expire if I turn badges off?
Credits you have already earned stay yours. Turning off Show badges and streaks hides the grid and the messages; it does not take anything back.
Can I give credits to somebody else?
No. A badge is earned by a person and the credits stay with that person, in every workspace they work in.
