Share links

A share link is a page at nemilab.com/d/... that shows what you sent and lets the person on the other end open or download it. It exists the moment you press Create link, and it keeps working until it expires, hits a limit you set, or you delete it.

   Select what you want to send

   One file, several files, a folder, or a mix of them. Selecting a folder shares the folder and what is in it.

   Press Share

   The share panel opens on the right. A name is filled in from the first file, and you can type over it: that name is the heading on the page your recipient sees.

   Set the terms

   Expiry as a row of pills, and who may open it as three buttons. Everything else, including the password, lives under More.

   Create the link

   Press Create link. If you typed email addresses in the field under the name, the button says Create and send instead, and Nemi emails it for you.

What the person you send it to sees#

A page with your workspace name, icon and colour at the top, the name you gave the share, and the files listed underneath. Most things preview in the browser without downloading first: documents, spreadsheets, images, RAW photographs, video, audio, code, archives and 3D files. There is a download button per file, and a button that takes everything at once as a zip.

Several files, or a whole folder#

• Select more than one item before pressing Share and they all go on one link, so the recipient gets one page rather than five emails.
• A shared folder keeps its structure on the page, and its subfolders can be opened and downloaded as their own zips.
• You can add or remove files from an existing link later from the link manager, if that has been switched on for your account.
• Quick route: right-click a file, choose Share link, then an expiry and an access mode. The link is created and copied to your clipboard without the panel ever opening.

Your own link id#

By default the link ends in a generated id. Under More you can type a custom one instead, so the link reads nemilab.com/d/acme-q3-pitch. Letters, numbers and hyphens only, 3 to 50 characters, and it has to be one nobody else in Nemi has taken. Custom ids are available on Creator, Pro, Max and Business.

Changing a link after you have sent it#

The link address never changes when you edit its settings. Open the link manager with ⌘⇧L (Ctrl+Shift+L on Windows and Linux), find the link and press edit: the name, description, expiry, access mode, allowed addresses and password can all be changed, and the client who already has the URL simply gets the new rules next time they open it.
