Designing the page people land on
Lay out the page a recipient opens: files, your words, your work, an approval box, in the arrangement you want.
On this page
The page behind a link is yours to lay out. It is a grid of blocks: the files, a header, your words, a picture wall, the approval box, a link back to your folio, a button, a countdown. Put them where you like, at the size you like, and the whole page takes a look you pick.
Where to start#
- 1
Right after you make a link
The share panel offers "Design the page" next to the link it just gave you.
- 2
Or from Links
Open Links, find the link, and press the layout button on its card.
- 3
Or design once and reuse it
The Pages tab in Links holds your page designs. Mark one as the default and every new link starts from it.
A link that has never been designed uses the Nemi default page, which is already a full page: a header, the files, who sent them, what is in the delivery, and how long the link lasts. Nothing has to be designed for a link to look finished.
How the canvas works#
- Click a block in the left column to put it on the page.
- Drag it to move it. Drag the square in its bottom right corner to resize it.
- Blocks may overlap. "Tidy up" pulls everything up until it touches, without changing the order.
- The right column holds the settings of whatever is selected, and the look of the whole page.
- Undo is the usual keyboard shortcut, and the delete key removes the selected block.
What you can put on it#
| Group | Blocks |
|---|---|
| Files and delivery | The files in five views, a download button, one file in the spotlight, what is in it, a countdown, the rules of the link |
| Words and story | Header, heading, text, callout, what you get, timeline, questions, credits, quote |
| You and your brand | Who sent it, your workspace, your folio and its latest projects, your links, a contact button |
| Actions | Approval, review round, send something back, a button, and a box to tick before downloading |
| Shape and mood | Picture wall, marquee, line, space |
A block that has nothing to show does not appear: no approval on a link that never asked for one.
The look#
The Look panel is the same one a folio uses: nine starting points, then the background, the colours, any Google font, the corners, the shadow and the width. Picking a new start replaces the look and never the blocks, so it is safe to try one halfway through.
Designs you reuse#
A design in the Pages tab can be used by every link. Editing it changes every link that still follows it, and never a link you have designed on its own: the moment you design one link, it keeps that page whatever happens to the design it came from. "Save as a design" in the designer takes what is on the canvas and keeps it for other links.
The Nemi block#
On the free plan every page carries a small Nemi block. You choose where it sits, and it is put back at the bottom if it is removed. From Starter upwards it becomes an ordinary block: move it, reword it, or take it off. That is the same plan line that decides whether your own branding replaces ours everywhere else.
Does redesigning a page change the link?
No. The address stays the same, and anybody who already has it sees the new page the next time they open it.
Can I go back to how it was?
A link you designed can be put back on its design, or on the Nemi default page, from the designer.
Does the box people tick before downloading protect the files?
No. It holds the buttons on that page and nothing more. What actually protects a link is its password, its expiry and its download limit.
