The 15 GB on the free plan
The free plan starts at 10 GB and the five setup steps add 5 GB more, a gigabyte at a time, as you do them.
The free plan is 15 GB. It arrives in two parts: 10 GB the moment you sign up, and 5 GB more as you finish five setup steps, a gigabyte each. There is nothing to claim and no button to press. Each step adds its storage the moment you do the thing.

Five gigabytes in total, on top of the ten the plan starts with.
You can see how far along you are in Nemi Score, above your score, and the Finish setup row in your profile menu says how much storage is still to pick up. Once all five are done the list goes away for good and that row becomes your score.
I had an account before this changed. Did I lose 5 GB?
No. Every account that existed before the split was given the full 5 GB outright, so nothing moved.
Does a paid plan have setup steps?
The steps still show until they are done, but the storage is only meaningful on the free plan: a paid plan already includes far more than the 5 GB they add.
Can I lose the storage by undoing a step?
No. Deleting the file you uploaded, or the link you sent, does not take the storage back.
