What Nemi AI can and cannot do
Everything you can ask the assistant to do in your account, the four things it cannot reach, the things it will not help with, and how it differs from an assistant you connect yourself.

The assistant works with the same things you work with, so the honest summary is that it can do what you can do in the apps below, and nothing else. You never name a tool: you describe what you want and it picks.
What you can ask for#

| Getting around | Take you to a place in the app, so "open the invoice folder" moves your window. |
Everything in this table happens under your own permissions, and an action your role does not allow is refused.
What it will not help with#
These are not limits of reach, they are things it declines. It says so in one friendly sentence, once, and moves on, which is worth knowing before you spend a message finding out.
- Software code. It does not write, review, explain or debug code, because Nemi is not a coding tool. A spreadsheet formula is not code in this sense: ask for a total, a lookup or a percentage and it will write it.
- Anything unrelated to your account. It is not a general purpose chatbot. An essay, a poem, a homework answer or a translation of something that has nothing to do with your files is not what it is for.
- Legal, medical, financial and tax advice. It points you at somebody qualified instead. It will still work with the files about any of those things.
- Its own instructions. It does not repeat or summarise how it was set up, or which model it runs on.
What it cannot do#
- A calendar that comes from a connected account. Nothing from Google Calendar, Outlook or an ICS subscription is reachable, by any means. It can read and write the calendars you made inside Nemi and no others, so an agenda it reads back to you can be incomplete. See Connecting calendars.
- Anything inside a Vault folder. A vault is encrypted on your device with a key we have never held, so there is nothing there for an assistant to read. See What a vault is.
- Your email address, your password and your billing. It cannot change any of them. Those live in Settings and are yours to change by hand.
- Somebody else's account. It acts as you, so it reaches what you reach and stops where you stop.
How it differs from an assistant you connect yourself#
Nemi has two AI features and they are not the same thing. Nemi AI is ours and is built in. The AI connection is an assistant you already have, such as one in a chat app of your own, that you authorise to reach your Nemi account. The difference that matters is where your content goes.

You can use both, one, or neither. Nemi AI can do a few things the connection cannot, as the table shows, but both are built on the same list of actions, which is why neither of them can reach a connected calendar account.
