For jobs no button in Nemi does, like putting an A5 PDF on A4 with bleed or joining videos, Nemi AI writes a small program, runs it, checks the result and hands you the file.
On the Max and Business plans. Some requests are not a conversion or a setting: "put this A5 flyer on A4 with 5 mm bleed", "join these five clips into one video", "take every table out of this report and give me a spreadsheet". For those, Nemi AI writes a short program in Python and runs it in a private workspace of its own for your conversation. It can look at what it made, for example a picture of page one, and fix it before it hands you anything.
How to use it#

Give it the files
Select them in Files, pick them from Nemi with the paperclip, or attach them from your device.

Say what you want, with the numbers
Sizes, margins, order, format: "A4, 5 mm bleed, crop marks" gets a better first result than "make it print ready".

Answer its question if it asks one
When there is a real choice, such as re-encoding videos that do not match, it shows the options as buttons. Tap one, or type your own answer.

Download the result, or save it
The file appears in the conversation with Download and Save. Saving puts it in the folder you are in; Open in Nemi then takes you to it.
What it works well for#
- PDF layout: a different page size, bleed and trim boxes, crop marks, splitting, merging, reordering and putting pages side by side.
- Video and audio: joining clips, trimming, taking the sound out, making a smaller copy. Clips that match are joined in seconds without losing quality; clips that do not match have to be re-encoded, which takes about as long as the video plays.
- Images in bulk: the same crop, size or border on many pictures at once.
- Documents and data: tables out of a PDF into a spreadsheet, cleaning up a spreadsheet, a Word or PowerPoint file built from data.

It is offline unless you switch internet on: then it works with the files you give it and the tools it already has, and cannot download or install anything. Files in a Vault can never be loaded into it.
Internet in the sandbox#
In your Nemi AI settings, under Code sandbox, you can switch internet on. Then the program can download what a job needs, like a font, a logo from a web address or an extra Python package, and reach websites. It is off until you switch it on, and switching it off works from the next step, in a new sandbox: the files in the old one are gone, so the assistant loads them again.
The program runs at Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt and only receives the files it loads for you. Your conversations and what is sent and section 3.18 of the privacy policy say exactly what is sent and how long it is kept.
