Invoices, payment and VAT

Where to find your invoices and PDFs, which payment methods work, how VAT is handled, and the 14 day right of withdrawal for EU consumers.

On this page

Payments run through Stripe. Your card or bank details never touch Nemi's servers: we store a customer reference and a subscription reference, and nothing else about how you pay. That is set out in section 3.2 of the privacy policy.

Finding your invoices#

Settings, Plan and billing, at the bottom. Every invoice is listed with its number, its date, the period it covers and its status. Two buttons sit on each row: one opens the invoice in your browser, one downloads the PDF for your bookkeeping.

An invoice that includes auto-extend carries a storage badge, and the amount is broken out as its own line inside the invoice.

Paying#

  • Card and SEPA direct debit are both accepted for a subscription.
  • A discount code can be entered at checkout, on the payment screen, before you confirm.
  • To change the card on file, press Update next to Payment method. It opens Stripe's own screen, which is the only place those details exist.
  • Stripe Portal opens the full billing portal: payment methods, billing address, invoice history and your subscription in one place.

VAT#

Prices are in euros. Where you buy as a consumer, the price shown to you includes VAT where it applies, and any tax that applies to your purchase is shown at checkout before you confirm. Your billing address, and a VAT number if you have one, live in the Stripe billing portal, and they appear on the invoice PDF you download.

The 14 day right of withdrawal#

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you may withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason. Because Nemi starts working the moment you pay, you agree at checkout that we begin straight away, which means you pay a proportionate amount for the days you actually used the paid service and we refund the rest. To use the right, email support@nemilab.com inside the 14 days. Outside the EU and EEA, whatever your local consumer law gives you still applies. The full wording is in section 6 of the terms.

When a payment fails#

Nothing dramatic happens on the first failure. We email you, Stripe retries for about a week, and during that window your plan and your files are untouched: paid retention still applies, so nothing is swept while a payment is being retried. Update the card in the portal and the retry succeeds. If the whole retry schedule fails, the subscription ends and the account falls back to the free plan, which is described in Cancelling and what happens to your files.

There is a line called Extra storage on my invoice.

That is auto-extend. It shows the number of GB and the dates it covers, and it is charged on the highest amount you held during the period. See More storage and auto-extend.

I need an invoice with my company details on it.

Set the billing address and VAT number in the Stripe portal, then download the PDF again. If an already issued invoice needs correcting, email support.

No invoices are listed.

You are on the free plan, or your first payment has not been taken yet. Invoices only exist for paid subscriptions.

What is the account credit on my plan card?

Money left over from a plan change, usually a downgrade. It is applied automatically to your next invoices rather than paid back to your card.

Anything an invoice cannot answer, send to support@nemilab.com with the invoice number in it. That one detail turns most billing questions into a single reply.
