Invite a friend, get storage
Anyone signing up through your link starts with 15 GB extra. You get 10 GB permanently for every referral that qualifies, up to five.
Both sides get storage, and it is permanent. Somebody who creates their account through your link starts with 15 GB on top of their plan. You get 10 GB for every referral that qualifies, up to five of them, so 50 GB in total. The bonus stays with the account whatever plan it is on, and it shows up in Settings, Usage as Referral bonus.

The 15 GB lands as soon as their account is created. Your 10 GB lands only once their referral qualifies, which takes at least seven days.

Open the invite screen
From your profile menu. It shows your personal link, how many referrals have qualified and how much storage you have earned.

One button. The code in it is yours and does not change.

Send it to somebody who would use Nemi
They have to follow the link before creating their account, because the code is read at sign-up.

Watch the list
Everyone who used your link appears on that screen with their status: pending, qualified or disqualified.
What makes a referral qualify#
All three of these, and the check runs when the person you invited comes back after their first week.
- They have been registered for at least 7 days.
- They uploaded at least 5 files within those first 7 days.
- They came back to Nemi at least once after day 7. That return visit is what triggers the check.

The rules that stop it being gamed#
- You cannot refer yourself.
- An account can be referred once, ever, by one person. A second code cannot be redeemed on the same account later.
- Only a brand new account can redeem a code. Following a referral link with an account you already have does nothing.
- The email address on the new account has to be verified before the referral counts.
- There is a daily limit on how often one link can be used from the same device, so a burst of sign-ups from one machine will be refused.
- Once five of your referrals have qualified, further ones are recorded but earn nothing.
A friend signed up but nothing appeared.
Check they opened your link before creating the account, and that they verified their email address. If both are true, the referral is on your list as pending and needs their first week to pass.
It says disqualified.
They did not upload five files in their first seven days. That cannot be reopened, but there is no penalty either: invite somebody else.
Does the bonus disappear if I change plan?
No. It sits on top of whatever plan you are on, including free, and it is added to your storage limit rather than to a plan.
Can I combine it with auto-extend?
Yes. The bonus raises your storage limit, and auto-extend measures from that raised limit, so you are charged only for what goes past it.
What is stored about a referral, and for how long, is in section 3 of the privacy policy. Following a referral link sets one cookie that remembers the code until you sign up, and nothing else.
