Showing your photos on a screen
Put a library on a television or a spare monitor. The screen shows a code, you enter it in Gallery, and it runs on its own from then on.

A screen shows your library as a slideshow: photos fade from one to the next, and a photo somebody adds turns up on the screen within seconds without anybody touching it. It is meant for a television in a reception, a monitor in a studio, or a spare screen at home.
The screen itself never signs in. You add it from Gallery instead, which is why the code goes the direction it does: the screen shows a code and you type it into Nemi, rather than typing anything into a television.
Setting one up#

Open nemilab.com/wall on the screen
Any browser will do: the television's own, a streaming stick, or a small computer plugged into it. A six character code appears.

In Gallery, press Screens in the sidebar
A panel opens with everything already showing your library, and a place to add another.

Enter the code and say what the screen shows
All photos, your favourites, or one album. Give it a name so you know which screen it is later.

Press Send to screen
The code disappears from the screen and the photos start. Nothing else needs doing, and the screen keeps running through reboots.
What a screen can and cannot do#
A screen shows photographs and, if you want it to, the date each one was taken. That is the whole of it. It cannot open a photo, download one, show who added it, show comments or reactions, browse your albums, or reach anything else in your account. It never shows the file name of a photo, and nothing in the trash ever appears on it.
A screen is not a person. It does not appear in the row of faces at the top of the library, and nobody in the workspace is shown as looking at a photo because a screen is on it.

Changing or stopping a screen#
Open Screens in the Gallery sidebar. Every screen is listed with what it shows, how many photos that is, and whether it is showing right now or when it was last seen. Press End next to one and it stops immediately and goes back to showing a code. Nothing in your library changes, and you can add it again whenever you like.
To point a screen at something else, end it and add it again with the new choice. That is deliberate: what a screen is allowed to show is fixed when you add it, so changing it means the screen has to be added afresh.
How many screens you can have#
How many screens can run at once comes from the plan of the person who owns the workspace, like storage and the photo cap, and it counts every screen across the workspaces that person owns. The Screens panel says how many you have and how many the plan allows. See Plans and what is in them.
When something is not right#
The screen says it cannot show the photos
Nemi stores photos in the AVIF format and that screen's browser cannot open it. Televisions are usually years behind. Try a streaming stick or a small computer plugged into the screen instead.
The screen says it is paused
The workspace it belongs to cannot show a library on a screen at the moment, usually because the plan changed. It starts again on its own once that changes.
The screen went back to showing a code
Somebody pressed End on it, or it was added again somewhere else. Enter the new code in Screens to start it again.
A photo I trashed is still on the screen
It should leave within seconds. If it is still there after a minute, the screen has lost its connection: it picks everything up again on its own within five minutes.
Can I show a library on a screen without a Nemi account on it?
That is the whole idea. The screen never signs in and holds nothing but permission to show the photos you chose.
