Nemi vs Proton Drive. Two European answers to the same worry, built differently.

Proton Drive is storage where everything is end-to-end encrypted, from a Swiss company whose whole product line is privacy. Nemi encrypts what you choose to put in a Vault end to end and everything else at rest, and in return can do things with your files that a server holding only ciphertext cannot.

What Proton Drive does better

Every file, every name and every folder is end-to-end encrypted by default, not only the folders you mark. It has desktop sync on Windows and macOS, mobile photo backup, and it sits next to Proton Mail and Proton Pass. If the one thing that matters is that the provider can never read anything, Proton is built around exactly that and we are not.

Encryption where it counts, work everywhere else

A Vault folder is end-to-end encrypted in your browser and nobody at Nemi can open it. Everything outside a Vault is encrypted at rest, which is what lets Nemi preview, convert, compress and search it for you. You decide per folder which of the two a file needs.

The file can be handed to a client properly

Branded share pages, review rounds with pins on the file, upload links and client rooms with a checklist, for people who will never make an account.

Conversion and compression are built in

More than 100 formats on our own Rust engine in the Netherlands, with the result landing next to the original.

Meetings, calendar, forms and photos in the same account

Video calls that go browser to browser, a calendar that syncs both ways with Google and Outlook, forms whose answers land in a sheet, and a photo library searched on your own device.

Move in once.

All of your work on one account, made and hosted in the Netherlands. Nemi is opening in groups: put your name down and we tell you when yours is up.

15 GB free when you are in. No card.
