Reading the responses
Every submission is a row in a spreadsheet in your workspace, written as it arrives, with a summary page over the top of it.

Answers land in a Nemi Sheet in your workspace, one row per submission, written the moment somebody presses submit. There is no export step and no second copy of the data: the sheet is the data. It is created with the first response, named after the form, and opens in Sheets like any other spreadsheet.

What happens when you change the form later#
The header row is written once. After that each answer is placed under the column whose heading matches its question, not by position, so editing a live form does not scramble the data you already have.
- A new question gets a new column added at the end, from the next response onwards.
- A question you removed keeps its column, with everything already in it. It simply stops filling.
- Renaming a question starts a new column under the new name. The old one stays.
- Columns are never moved or relabelled behind your back, so notes and formulas you added to the sheet keep working.
The Responses page#
Press Responses in the form sidebar for the view over the top of the sheet: how many responses, how many questions, when the last one arrived, and whether the form is live, closed or unpublished. Under that sits a bar chart per question showing how the answers are distributed, with an average for ratings and scales, then the most recent individual submissions in full. Open responses sheet takes you to everything.
If your form shows a plain link to the responses sheet instead of this page, the summary view has not been switched on for your account yet. The sheet has the same data either way.
Attachments#
When a form has a file upload question, the cell lists the file names and the first one links straight to the file. The files themselves land in your workspace in a folder called Form uploads, with a subfolder named after the form, and they count towards your storage and your monthly upload volume. A file bigger than your plan allows per file is refused before it uploads, and the respondent is told so plainly without being told about your plan.
Questions people ask#
Two people submitted at the same second. Did one overwrite the other?
No. Rows are appended one at a time, so simultaneous submissions become two rows.
A row says Anonymous.
That form did not ask for a name, or the respondent left the name field empty. Nothing else identifying is recorded.
I deleted the response sheet by accident.
The next response creates a fresh one, starting from an empty header. The submissions that were in the old sheet are gone with it, so check the trash in Sheets first.
Can I delete a response?
Delete its row in the sheet. That removes the answer, but it does not give back the monthly response allowance it used.
Can an AI assistant read my responses?
Only if you connect one. The Nemi AI connection can reach forms and their responses; see The AI connection. It reads nothing on its own, and we never use your form responses to train models.
