Building apps on Nemi
Developers can add Sign in with Nemi to their own website or app and work with a person's files, photos, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Canvas boards and calendars, with that person's permission.
If you build software, you can let people sign in to it with their Nemi account and, with their permission, work with their Nemi content through our API. Everything a developer needs, from applying to the documentation, is at dev.nemilab.com.
- 1
Apply
Sign in at dev.nemilab.com with your Nemi account and tell us what you are building. We email you when we have decided.
- 2
Register your app
Give it a name, a logo, the addresses people are sent back to after signing in, and the permissions it needs.
- 3
Build and test
While your app is in development, only you and up to 25 people you invite can sign in to it.
- 4
Submit it for review
When we have reviewed it, anybody with a Nemi account can sign in, and the consent screen shows Reviewed by Nemi.
- Ask only for what you need. People see every permission you ask for, one line each, and our Terms of Service require you to request only what your app uses.
- You need a privacy policy. It must say what your app does with the data it receives from Nemi. Selling that data is not allowed.
- Every permission is bounded by the person's own role. Your app can never do more in a workspace than the person who signed in could do there.
This is separate from connecting an AI assistant, which needs no developer account at all: see Connecting Nemi to an AI assistant.
